Carlsberg is marking 30 years of partnering with Liverpool FC by commemorating celebrated players on their labels.  I hear tell the original Carlsberg has new recipe which is not going over well.  I suspect what I have here is not a one-off but rather the current Carlsberg with a limited time label, in which case I share the general disappointment.

June 27, 2023

More sad news to report - the Monk's Kettle is permanently closed.  The Bloor/Islington to Royal York area is becoming progressively duller what with this and the loss of Orwell's.  The Squire has little going for it in my mind, save for memories from when I worked across the street but even then I preferred Orwell's.  Perhaps something nice will take its place.  The Monk's Kettle did appear to be holding aces and eights during my most recent visits.
