163/1981) Home:  Old Fashioned Premium Rye Ale by Henderson Brewing of Ontario:  *1/2;  10%;  "Canada's first cocktail beer" brewed in collaboration with the Martini Club;  peppery rye is very prominent in the nose;  bitters and cocktail elements come into play in the flavours with bitters lingering to the aftertaste;  an odd one;

The thinking behind this was "Instead of working beer into cocktails, why not  try the opposite?"  At 10% and in a 750ml bottle this is one for sharing, in appropriate glassware to be fully in the spirit, if you will..

164/1982) Home:  Winterweisse by Muskoka Brewery of Ontario:  *1/2; a 5% unfiltered dunkelweisse;  brewed with barley and wheat;  rich, malty, sweet;  a fine example of the dunkel style;
