225/2446) 555 Brewing Company, Picton:  Patchbottom Boot by 555 Brewing Company of Ontario:  **1/2; 8.2%, 67 ibu; an Imperial IPA brewed with El Dorado hops and Amarillo hop hash; tropical and grapefruit nose; mango and grapefruit flavours;

555 takes its name from the tale of the murder of Peter Lazier.  It centres around a bungled robbery of a farmer for $555 from the sale of hops.  It led to murder and, possibly, a bungled trial verdict.

226/2447) 555 Brewing Company:  Long Black by 555 Brewing Company of Ontario:  *1/2;  4.5%, 50 ibu; a black ale brewed with Cherry Bomb Coffee; soda-like mouth feel; roasted malt nose; roast and coffee notes;

The beers take their names from aspects of the investigation and trial.  George Lowder's gravestone reads, "Hanged.  1884.  Unjustly."

These were from a  tasting flight.  It is a great place with a pizza oven serving fresh baked personal size pizzas.  The brewmaster is formerly of Barley Days.

228/2449) Barley Days Brewing, Picton:  Chinook Pale Ale by Barley Days Brewing of Ontario:  *1/2; 5%, 30 ibu; malty with a mild hop bite; minerally notes;

The buck-a-beer brew is not available until Monday.
