March 3, 2019

I am not sold on the idea of pubs having Twitter accounts for anything beyond sharing beer lists and news of upcoming events.  It seems to easy to offend potential or existing customers or to look foolish.

C'est What has had a pair of regrettable tweets over the past two days.  On March 1st they marked the 46th anniversary of the release of Pink Floyd's remarkable Dark Side Of The Moon by quoting from the follow-up Wish You Were Here.

The following day they passed along a quotation which has been attributed to Dr. Suess for a long time in the complete absence of any evidence that he had ever said or written it. "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened." is a lovely sentiment but there is no indication it came from Dr. Seuss.
