185/2003) Home:  Little Norway Pale Lager by Sawdust City of Ontario:  *1/2;  4.5%;  brewed with German pilsner malt, Saaz and Magnum hops, though I found the hops to be understated;  a collaboration with Arendals Bryggeri of Norway;  grainy, mildly fruity nose;  faint fruit notes among grassy flavours;

Sawdust City is located in Gravenhurst.  In 1940 some 3,000 Norwegian airmen relocated here after the fall of Norway in the second world war and the town became known as Little Norway.  Seventy five years later this collaboration was brewed.

186/2004) Home:  Rhubarb Saison by Wellington Brewery of Ontario:  *1/2;  5.1%, 20 ibu;  brewed with farmhouse style yeast;  rhubarb in nose and the dank musty farmhouse yeast;  rhubarb not quite so up front as I may have wished;  another example of a farmhouse/saison being rescued by fruit;  musty, yeasty aftertaste;

 The label reads, "best enjoyed out doors" and, indeed it is definitely a patio beer.
